Be Amazing!

10 Jan

Joanna ZeigerI am reading facebook and I see a link about this mutli-talented marathon trials qualifier, so I click on the link.  Joanna Zeiger is qualifying for the Olympic trials at the age of 41(YOU GO GIRL!)  but what is even more shocking is that she qualified for the Olympic trials SIX TIMES in THREE SPORTS!  The first time she qualified she was 18, WOW!  Now some of you may be saying obviously she is genetically gifted, good for her, but really at that level, all of the athletes are superior, so what does it take for an athlete to qualify 6 times in 3 different sports?  TENACITY, DRIVE, and AN INSANE DESIRE.  (See article at http://runningtimes.com/Article.aspx?ArticleID=24977)

It is easy to discount someone else’s success, but rather than discount it, why not think about how they got there?  Do you think Joanna Zeiger just woke up one day and said she is going to run a race to qualify, nah, that’s not how it works.  She made up her mind to commit blood, sweat, and tears to make her dream a reality.  She is running 80-90 miles a week and oh yeah, she has a job too.  Some people get lucky in life, but luck only takes you so far.  The most phenomenal people work every day to become better and those people inspire me.  It challenges me to get out of bed the days I am sore and tired.  It challenges me to work that extra hour, even when I really feel like going home and taking a nap.  It’s the small efforts that can make such a difference in your life.  It’s the small decisions that can get you so much closer to your goal.

Don’t just be, BE IN IT TO WIN IT!  Give every day your best and use other’s success stories to motivate you to be more and want more from your life.  Your possibilities are endless, afterall you are amazing, so BE AMAZING!
