Finding the time

There is never enough time to do all that we’d like to do in a day. Knowing that, one must make exercise a priority because all the other things on your to-do list will take over.

Here are some tips to keep in shape over the holidays and times when your schedule is jam packed.

1. Make it an appointment that you cannot miss!The best way to ensure that you don’t miss your workouts is to schedule them in as appointments throughout your week. In doing so, you have to be honest with how much time you have available.

2. Schedule workouts with a workout buddy. This will keep you accountable because you know you will have someone waiting for you. It will also make the workout all that much more fun. You could even hire a trainer which would make you even more accountable because you’ve invested time and money.

3. Join a team or group exercise class. Look on the internet for local running and cycling groups. Print the group exercise schedule from your gym and check out some of the classes. Not a member of any gym? There are studios for almost every type of exercise where you can pay by the class. Here are some of my favorites:

4. When your evenings are booked, work out in the mornings before work or during your lunch class. If it’s too dark out or you need to shower, check out the gym or a fitness studio.

And then there are days where you really don’t have time, so here is a 15 minute total body workout that you can do anywhere.
